What is
Vedic Meditation?
Vedic Meditation comes from the Vedas, an ancient body of knowledge that dates back over 5,000 years. The Vedas are the source of all Indian philosophy, yoga, meditation and Ayurveda. The name of this technique in Sanskrit is Nishkam Karma Yoga, which means "union attained through activity hardly done."
During Vedic Meditation we sit comfortably with our eyes closed and silently repeat the personalized mantra we received on the first day of the course. This mantra naturally and effortlessly guides us to the subtlest and calmest levels of the mind, allowing us to experience the deepest rest, up to five times deeper than sleep. In this profound state, we begin to release all the stress, traumas, and limiting beliefs we have accumulated throughout our lives. In this way, we start to transcend our individuality and connect with our true essence, which is universal, whole, and blissful.
How is it different from other meditation techniques?
Vedic Meditation is known around the world for being an easy technique to learn and practice. Most types of meditation require concentration or contemplation, which keeps the mind active. In Vedic Meditation, we naturally de-excite the mind and body by correctly and effortlessly using the personalized mantra given in the course.
It is a technique that can be practiced by anyone, regardless of age, mental activity, beliefs, or personalities. It is designed for those who lead busy lives, with families, work, and the everyday responsibilities of the modern world, and it can be practiced anywhere, regardless of noise or environment.
